DrinK in a Hand Art is run by mother-and-son team Ann Kinahan and Peter Kinahan. Ann has painted all her life and exhibited regularly in London and East Anglia before moving to Cornwall in 2010. She has exhibited locally too, for instance, in 2021 at the Falmouth Poly Open Exhibition. Traditionally she has painted in oils but now most of her paintings are mixed media (acrylics, inks and oil pastels with some collage). She would describe her work as semi abstract – figures, landscapes and floral or still life arrangements.
Peter Kinahan (Pete), produces their art videos and manages their on line presence. Pete’s background is sound and video engineering. Their partnership name, DrinK in a Hand Art, allows their surname (Kinahan) to be included but also reflects the numerous mugs of tea (sadly, rather than any alcohol) that fuel the painting!! Hence Ann’s paintings are now signed with a little drunken wine glass and the date.
Ann and Pete periodically also run painting work-shops - mainly aimed at the beginner but everyone is very welcome. To date these have either taken place at their pretty Looedown studio just outside Liskeard or at the beautiful St. Piran Cafe at Bissoe near Truro.
