Maker’s bio
Adam is a contemporary textile artist creating works inspired by the patina of rocks, mosses, lichens and weathered surfaces. After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Architecture from the University of Plymouth, Adam pursued an interest in the spirit of place. This led him to research his family heritage and investigate the history of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall. Finding inspiration and beauty everywhere from the Neolithic stone circles to the mosses and lichens, he created textile pieces that were influenced by their textures and colours. A turning point in his career came when he was commissioned to create two large pieces for The Scarlet, a new boutique hotel in Mawgan Porth. This then led to an invitation for a solo show and the opportunity to join the core artists at the exciting and prestigious modern gallery Circle Contemporary, where he continues to exhibit work.
